Where the River Flows There is Life
Uplifting lives through the dignity of work and fly fishing flies hand-crafted in Kampala, Uganda
Our Mission
We’re on a mission to bring hope to the hopeless by leveraging small business and spiritual formation to provide employment, livable wages, and ongoing skills development to survivors of trafficking and sexual abuse.
Our Story
Early in marriage, we dreamed about using business to bring about redemption for the broken. For years, our dreams remained just that – small hopes buried inside our souls as we hustled to grow and learn within fast-paced tech start-ups.
But our own hands-on training and vision for using restorative business to transform lives grew into reality nearly a decade later. Guided by a divine calling to participate in God's love for the oppressed, the Rowley family of five is now on-the-ground in Kampala, Uganda. There, we teach fly-tying and life-skills to women emerging from sexual abuse, building a business rooted in Biblical principles of work.
The Rescue River Approach
-
Craft High-Quality Fishing Products
We collaborate with world-renowned fly-tyers and industry experts to ensure that our products are unmatched in quality. Our commitment to excellence means every product is a testament to the skill and dedication of our artisans.
-
Empower Survivors Through Redemptive Business
We use business as a force for good by partnering with organizations that address abuse and human trafficking. Our program integrates survivors into the workplace, teaching them to tie flies and craft outdoor goods. Beyond providing employment, we offer financial and literacy training, opportunities for development, and a path to economic independence.
-
Build a Self-Sustaining, Profitable Venture
Our vision extends beyond the immediate; we aim to create a venture that stands the test of time. We are not a non-profit or NGO and instead we've made the bet that the best way to influence lasting change is through intentional, profitable business.
Flies In Development
Flies are under development with an anticipated release in 2025. We are taking time to train the meticulous details of our fly patterns before we launch.
